His Mother's Son

Andrew is his mother's son in so many ways. A couple of days ago, we took him to the park where he had his first taste of dirt. The first fistful didn't phase him but soon after the second fistful hit his palate, he seemed to understand why dirt doesn't show up on the menu. That evening, we treated him to chocolate pudding, which he all-but inhaled (suddenly, he knew how to use a spoon . . . hmmm). When the pudding was gone, he licked the bowl beyond clean--to the point that we thought the plastic would disintegrate. Just like his momma!

Although Sue Ann hasn't eaten dirt in about 30 years, she still has an insatiable desire for chocolate--including pudding (and when nobody's looking, she has been known to lick a bowl or two . . . or three).

Staying Afloat

In case you're wondering, we're still afloat (thanks to the family and friends who have traveled here to help out).  Dave started back to work this past Monday after three weeks off and Sue Ann is getting a sneak peek at what it's going to be like when all the reinforcements have gone home. Andrew is getting used to Sarah. He rubs her head, tries to give her binkies and comes running when he hears her cry. Sarah, well, she's controlling all of us for now.
