Baby Face Piretti
Me: (doing laundry, minding my own bidness, wondering why my daughter is screaming angrily on the other side of the house, subconsciously deciding to ignore it and see if it works itself out)
A: Mommy! (visibly upset) Sarah says she doesn't want to talk right now but I really really want to tell her something important.
Me: give her 2 minutes, then you can tell her.
S: Andrew! I'm ready to talk now!
A: OK! Sarah, Sarah! Baby Face Piretti in the Scooby Doo Camp Scare, he's a bad guy and he wears a DIAPER on his BUTT!
Both kids laugh hysterically. I shake my head and return to my laundry.

Elaine Dittmer It's their secret language, which includes Diaper and Butt and is hilarious. Diaper means 'diaper' and Butt means 'butt' by the way.

Kissy Kiss
If you stay after school and observe your kids with their friends on the playground, you hear all kinds of interesting things . . . like, "Diana! Let's play kissy-kiss!" and "Hang on guys, I'm gonna go pee on the tree." Hmm.

Sweaties
A: Mom, I want to wear shorts to dinner with R.
Me: No. It's too cold outside, Andrew.
A: (shouting angrily) Fine then! I'll just wear fuzzy pants!!
Me: (pause) You mean corduroys?
A: No!! I'll wear sweaties!
Me: Ahh, you mean *sweats*.
A: Yea! Fuzzy sweaties! With a sweatie shirt.

Got a sock monkey wine bag today. Yea, I know! AwesoOoOome!! It's so stinkin cute I felt a little bad when I took out the wine to put it in the freezer so I could drink it asap. Then Mr. Monkey was reduced to a mere sock with eyes. Fear not, he will resume his seductive, winely shape after this bottle is empty. Thanks, Susan!! ♥

Panache
I bought some pretty Christmas wine glasses today and was drinking out of one them at dinner . . .
My huuuusband: Where'd you get that glass?
Me: bought a couple today. On sale. I like it.
My huuuusband: Why? They don't drink any differently [than our plain ones].
Me: sure they do--they're pretty. Don't you like *panache*?

Cold Front
Holy Smokes, E Paso! It's freezing outside. If you haven't seen the mountain today, go have a look. It's beautiful with the clouds all over it! And I think The Pattersons are having homemade chicken pot pie tonight. If I can get off this computer and get started.
