Andrew: (visibly upset) Mom, Sarah has my dinosaurs! Me: Sarah, those are Andrew's dinosaurs. Let's go get *your* dinosaurs. Sarah: (screaming with her loudest tiger voice) I don't WANT my own!! I want ANDREW'S!!! Would it be considered bad parenting if I just told Andrew to hide all of his stuff? Like · · April 23, 2011 at 9:45am Patricia PA Frey, Elaine Dittmer and Lester Lawler like this. Lester Lawler you always hide the good stuff..lol April 23, 2011 at 9:52am · Like Elaine Dittmer It would be wise parenting. At least for now. Or a high enough slide lock on the outside of his door that Sarah can't reach it. If the said dinosaurs are in his room. If not, well, she's always gonna want his stuff, it doesn't get better until about 11-13. And he's never gonna want her stuff. In the teen years it's just horrible verbal wrangling mostly. April 23, 2011 at 10:03am · Like Jack Taylor That isn't bad parenting, your teaching him a valuable life skill. April 23, 2011 at 11:28am · Like Hollie Wood Blair It's not bad parenting at all!!! We had a neighbor boy who broke something every time he came over to play, so I taught my kids to hide the "good stuff!!" Jury Duty

‎"Our records indicate that you have been excused from jury service at this time. No Further Response on your part is Necessary." Yee,haw! Dodged a bullet again! One of the perks of having small children. :) Like · · April 22, 2011 at 2:21pm Claudia Holguin-Sossen, Patricia PA Frey and Cindy Childress like this.

Barney

I can think of several plausible reasons why I'm the only one left in the family room watching Barney. What I can't explain is why it took me 5 whole minutes to realize it. I feel like I've been abducted by aliens. Barney is subversive. LOL! Like · · April 22, 2011 at 6:04pm Elaine Dittmer and Debbie Cook like this. Pretties

is looking gaw-geous after Sarah put "pretties" in my hair, which btw, she retrieved from the junk drawer in the kitchen. Watch your man, Ladies, because I am seriously rockin' these twist ties! pinata

thinks it is great that the children want to engage in pretend play, but doesn't like playing the part of the "the pinata," especially when they have non-pretend batting instruments. LOFT

just spent way too much money at our new Ann Taylor LOFT. Yes, EP Ladies, I said LOFT! Woo Hoo! I might be able to stay in EP after all. Now if we could only import some trees and humidity, export some wind and dirt, get a Central Market or Whole Foods, and adopt a local icon who wanders around downtown in his tiara, thong and stillettos . . . now we're talkin'. Oh, and a Pubcrawler. Like · · April 19, 2011 at 3:05pm Melody Kelsey, Jennifer Gibson Eager and 2 others like this. Elaine Dittmer I think you're getting an 'attitude adjustment'. I was getting out of my car today, on my way to return some things to the store, when I heard a child belt out a blood-curdling scream. Alarmed, I whirled to see a mother struggling with her flailing, vociferous child. Then I remembered that I was at Toys R Us and relaxed, as this is standard operating procedure for exiting this particular store with a small child. You'll Pay

just accidentally caused Sarah to hit herself in the face with a wicker basket. :( In the midst of her crying, she said something to me . . . not sure what it was because she still doesn't enunciate clearly sometimes . . . but it sounded uncomfortably like, "You'll pay."
