You know the parallel parking was stressful when your 4-year-old says, "Mom! Don't say that bad word" and you reply, "which one?" :)

sucked it up and went to the grocery story this morning. I even planned meals and made a list! I've searched for more reasons to be lazy and feeble, but couldn't come up with any. Let me know if you guys think of some . . . :D

Sue Ann Andrews well, it was edible-ish. . . and he ate it. He even finished cooking it because I got halfway through the cooking and decided it was a lost cause (and a gross one--salmon! Yuk!). So he gets double brownie points *and* an unlimited amount of Thin Mints for dessert.

D and I are going to the Valentines luncheon with Andrew at school today. This morning, Andrew walked out of his room carrying his highwater, burnt orange, Texas wind pants and his wrinkled green-and-white checkered "sunday best" shirt that's been wadded up in the bottom of his closet since October. Usually I just go with whatever he picks out but . . . I managed to redirect him to something that at least fits.

I can't possibly be the only person who pauses after I've written a questionably-spelled word, waiting for the piece of paper to confirm my misspelling by underlining it in red for me. But I'm probably the only person who feel betrayed by the paper when it doesn't happen. :D

Elaine Dittmer I try REALLY hard to NEVER 'write' anything on paper.
In fact I had a hard time realizing that you were talking about real pen to paper writing there. I thought you were just talking about some site that didn't have spell check. Honest!

James T. Parsons so I want to know how the kids figured out a way to drain the reservoir so they wouldn't have to go to school ... Man, wish we had thought of that one when we were little, AND had a way to execute the plan. Very resourceful kids in El Paso ... ;-)

Elaine Dittmer Well it appears that so many leaks occurred due to the frozen pipes, that lots and lots of water just leaked away into the ground! Yikes. Not a good thing in a desert.

To impress upon Andrew the difference between being 4 and being . . . Dave's age, Dave counted from 1 to . . . his age. (LOL!) Andrew, who can only count to somewhere in his 20's was overwhelmed and just said, "Dad, you're old." Hahaha. Happy Birthday, D!

EPISD is closed AGAIN tomorrow, which means our pre-school is probably closed, as well. I really want to throw a shoe at someone right now. No one in particular, anyone will do. Any volunteers? Come on, I'll make it a house slipper instead of a clog or a stiletto. I promise. Sigh.

Sue Ann Andrews The weather is nice here, Lester. Warming up. Our utilities companies are having trouble recovering from the storm. At least it's not so cold, so we can let the kids play outside. . . I'm not much in the mood to acknowledge a silver lining, though. LOL!
