Summary: Conserve water. Boil before consuming (after an outage or low pressure).
Awesome. I've been looking for an excuse to skip bathing and drink wine, beer and soda. (Seriously, smiles to my friends w/o water. You may shower at my house if you need to.)

Well, I'm sorry to say that I have to rescind my previous offer of hot showers, as we have now joined the ranks of the waterless. Yep, burst pipe and plumbers aren't even answering their phones anymore. Roto-Rooter can come on Wednesday. On the upside, it was an outdoor pipe so my house isn't full of water. (knock on wood). Hoping D can temporarily fix it tomorrow. Somebody Beer Me!

OK, EP friends, if your pipes freeze and burst: Reliable Plumbing is still taking calls 588-2561. (Roto-Rooter, too but they're making appts as far out as next thursday). Reliable isn't fixing things, but they'll cap it off so you can turn on your water. They're working all weekend.

James T. Parsons Funny thing is that one of my college professors was in the ambassador core for Sweden, who were in exile in London during WWII. Because he was with the Swedish Embassy, he was allowed to have liquor when few others. His trick of getting a plumber on Christmas Day was giving him a bottle of vodka. Good thing a variation on the trick has been picked up some 70 yrs later if I understand correctly. ;-)

I've always wondered whether I would toughen up if I lived in a colder climate. After the last couple of days of record-breaking cold weather, I'm going to say NO. Well, maybe I'd toughen up a *little* only because I would need to develop enough fortitude to venture out and get ice cream.

Sue Ann Andrews It's a minimal amount of snow and ice, but the cold and wind are the most objectionable, I think.
We didn't get enough snow in the valley to get a "clean catch" and we have too many poopin' birds for me to feel good about gathering snow off of any surface. We'll just have to stick with Blue Bell for now. LOL!

The music teacher at school says that my kids are among her best singers (ie, the loudest--which I can believe). But, they don't like me to sing in the car. Andrew said, "Mom, stop singing! Only drive the car!" Then he looked at the man in the car next to us, who was almost as animated as a box of rocks and he said, "See, like that! Only drive!" So much for all those voice lessons I took!
