We're not sure how or when it happened, but our baby boy is suddenly three years old. We must have looked away momentarily. Everyone said it would happen this way, but we didn't fully appreciate how compact the minutes of a young child's life really are. Every day, every week, every month is so rich with growing and learning. And changing.
To celebrate his accomplishments (and ours!), we decided to have a "real" party this year--ya know, with people and actual themed decor. It turned out to be a really cute school-bus themed party, replete with school-bus themed activities and decor, pizza, and miniature cupcakes. I tried very hard not to set the bar too high so early in our birthday party career, but I failed. I did, however, forego several of my wouldn't-that-be-just-ADORABLE ideas in favor of one large and excessive treat: The Tumblebus. The Tumblebus is a school bus that has been gutted and converted into a mobile gymnasium. Andrew has been doing Tumblebus weekly since the beginning of the summer and LOVES it. The kids had a blast with the zip line, ball pit, slide, and monkey bars inside the bus. And Andrew LOVED having the Tumblebus parked in his driveway!
Happy Birthday, Andrew!
