Washing The Van

Becky Morrow McDaniel I leave the dirt on mine for anti-theft protection...lol. Not that anyone would want to steal an 11 year old Hyundai w/dent in the door and paint chippin, bu that's my excuse and I'm stickin to it. :P

Huuuuug Meeee
thinks it's creepy when I'm sitting in a totally quiet house, writing in a journal, when a cute teddy bear spontaneously sings out "huuug me" and breaks into a super-cute rendition of "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes." Very creepy.

Quiet Time
is instituting "quiet time" for my non-napping child. He has to stay in his room at least 30 minutes while Sarah falls asleep and I eat my lunch. So far, it's been wildly unpopular. I'm not giving in, though . . . Mommy Power!

Elaine Dittmer yes, do whatever it takes. Both my boys, almost 6 years apart gave up naps at 2. But I had a friend whose son still took naps when he was 5. Nap are God's gift to mothers.
If he sees you won't give in, he will eventually. You CAN outlast him.

Mucoid Bioconversion
Andrew was playing with a toy rocketship an I asked him if it had any gas in it (because he's been "putting" gas in all his toy cars). He said, "No. It has Mommy's boogers." I had no idea I was harboring a non-conventional fuel. Now if we can just figure out the details of mucoid bioconversion . . .

Singing Rodents
Is finally getting around to sorting toys--and listening to the Chipmunk soundtrack. Sarah's looking at the blank tv screen with a quizzical expression. Andrew's bobbing his head. I have to admit, the 'munk rendition of Funkytown is pretty good . . . And I like "How We Roll." Yay for singing rodents!

Welcome To My Home
Last night, Andrew and Sarah were playing in the front room with the door closed (uh-oh). I stuck my head in to see what they were doing. Andrew took my hand, led me in the room, shut the door behind me and said, "Hi, Mommy. Welcome to my home." It was sweet; especially considering the arduous, frustrating day we'd had together. (Then he made me sit down and watch him leap off of every elevated surface in the room.)
