Foo Foo Girly Drink

just doesn't feel like doing any of it today. I'm envisioning a white sandy beach, blue ocean water and a never-ending foo foo girly drink . . . with a bendy straw, of course, so I don't have to lift my head so far off the lounge chair.

Dealing With The Devil

Dear Self: In the future, please refrain from bargaining with cantankerous toddlers just because you are in public. A desperate mind is also a roiled one and such dealings are akin to bargaining with the devil: you will want to change the terms of your agreement at a later time, but the wee bairn will remember every detail of your promise. (Sigh.)

Look! A Bicycle!

We took Andrew to Toys R Us to get a new bicycle. It was so painful! The entire hour we were there, he would NOT look at bikes and when we tried to "put" him on one, he freaked out. So we gave up. Then we went to Ripe for dinner. When he saw the neon sign for Fat Tire Ale (their icon is a leaning bicycle) that hung over the bar, he pointed and enthusiastically said, "Look! A bicycle! A bicycle!" . . . Grrrrr.

Ashley Derrington Makenzie got one for christmas and won't ride it for more than 2 seconds- the fact the pedal going backwards puts the breaks on annoys her yet she will ride her 2 tricycles with ease... I don't get it!

It's Always Daddy's Fault!

Dave, Sarah and I were standing in the laundry room (don't ask) and Sarah bent down to drink from the cat bowl. I hastily removed her. She got angry, protested and ran over to smack DAVE in the leg. LOL! That's right, baby. It's always Daddy's fault! :D

Kate McPartlin when you said crane for some reason my mind went to stork....cranes coming to your house are very different! Have fun.

Sue Ann Andrews Hehehe, Kate. The first thing I thought of was all the crane poop on the lawn! I might prefer some plastic lawn flamingos.

The move was successful. They loaded the house onto the crane platform, drove it around to the street that runs along our back yard and lowered it over the back wall. It's perfct! Hope to have pix up this afternoon.

Moving The Playhouse

Just posted the pix from the play house today. Not the best pix I've taken from a photography standpoint, but they convey the process. I feel like I should say that we hadn't planned on buying a playhouse, but we did it to support a good organization (CASA) and it's surprisingly cheap to rent a crane (who knew?!). It's not as opulent as it seems . . .

Sue Ann Andrews . . . and Sarah's face looks kind of scary in the pix. She fell outside yesterday and has some bad scratches. They're not as bad as they look in the pix.

The Sensitive Side of Vader

When we bought the Darth Vader mask, we also bought a Batman mask. Compelled by the unrelenting and high-pitched encouragement of a 3-year-old, I've donned the mask several times in the last couple of days ("mommy mommy be Batman be Batman mommy be Batman . . ."). It's a lot of fun . . . and I was thinking that it may be the only time Vader asks Batman for a hug and kiss.
