Ashley Derrington omg makenzie is obsessed with those grow thingys- the coolest one I found was at dollar tree- it was a little fish tank you ad water in and the fishy grow- no little hands dipping in and out of the glass of water- it had a lid LOL

Sue Ann Andrews Ok, I took pictures for days 2 and 3, but since I put the turtle in a bigger bowl, he looks the same size on camera. btw, he did NOT grow 600%. Maybe 150%. Maybe.

Save the world
Andrew: Mom, Sarah has my Buzz Lightyear gloves.
Me: That's ok, Andrew. She can wear them for a while. It's her turn.
Andrew: But MOMMM! I need them to save the world!

what's a *slurpee*
Rearranging the kitchen cabinets and found myself WOL (whooping out loud) b/c the Margaritaville machine isn't too tall to fit where I wanted it to go . . . looked over my shoulder, arms up in the air holding a marg machine, to find both my kids looking at me in puzzlement . . . "Our . . . uhhh *slurpee* machine fits in this cabinet. I'm happy." The kids, skeptically . . "what's a *slurpee*?"

ultimate weapon
They started with a bag of pastel pipe cleaners . . they made monochrome wads of tangled fuzzy wire . . when I asked, Sarah said she was "making girl/boy babies" and Andrew said he was making "churbibabas or schmalabaes" or whatever other word he could make up. But when *Dad* got home, Andrew revealed his plot in full detail, "Dad! I'm taking Sarah's babies and training them into guns. I'm making my ultimate weapon."

Elaine Dittmer Okay these kids need "gender neutral socialization", I can tell. Or maybe even "gender re-education". :-)

laughing in her sleep
I love hearing my daughter giggle in her sleep. I hope she's dreaming of daffodils and cupcakes, rather than plotting her revenge.

where's the vomit
Another thing I never thought I'd hear myself say out loud:
(while inspecting a barfed-upon bathroom rug I had carelessly thrown into the laundry room 2 hours earlier) "Where's the vomit?"

Happy Father's Day
This morning at breakfast:
Andrew: Dad, were in Granny's tummy?
Dave: Yes, that's how all of us come into this world, Andrew.
Andrew: (pause) And then did you blast out of her face?
I think that's male code for "Happy Father's Day."

Elaine Dittmer OMG, Josh thought babies came out of the tummy button. And he would have a baby come out of HIS tummy button. Sheer disappointment when told "boys don't ever have babies". Well maybe some day, who knows? Right. BLAST, gotta love Andrew.

Sonic Tots
Tried a recipe for Sonic Tater Tots . . . have some suggested edits for the author:
Ms. Devlin, Please consider deleting steps 1-4 (I know, there are only 4 steps. Just do it.). Replace with the following:
1. Get your car keys.
2. Drive to Sonic.
3. Tell the talking box how many Tots you need.
4. Drive home and place them in a pretty bowl.
5. Smile pretty! : )
